Note: As of 5/11/25, this is still a WIP but I am hopping over to work on the fandom-specific portion before coming back to this. But it is being actively worked on, I swear!!!
Hello creator!
This general letter is just intended to help things along if you would like more information about my interests and fandoms. Overall, I'm very big on "optional details are optional," so if this is not helpful to you, please feel free to disregard it. I am fairly easy to please, very difficult to trigger, and will always, always be most interested in seeing what YOU want to create for me as opposed to getting some boxes ticked off.
If there's anything you want clarification on for a specific exchange assignment, please feel free to have a mod ping me. If you're reading this not in relation to a specific exchange and want clarification for the future, you're welcome to drop me a note here or on Discord (captain.spiral).

Note: I often vary my dnws and this is intended as a broader overview. Please default to my sign-up and never, ever feel the need to err on the side of excluding something if you see it listed as a dnw in an unrelated sign-up.
Canon Compliance
Please never feel like you have to have an encyclopedic knowledge of canon when writing for me. I love playing fast and loose with most canons, and love canon divergence. If you have to fudge timelines to make a story idea work, or make up new rules of magic or sci-fi in addition to or directly contradicting canon, that works for me! As long as you're getting the gist of the world right in non-AU fics (eg Buffy slays vampires, Shadyside is cursed, Jennifer Check eats boys, the Isle of the Lost is where Disney villains and their kids have been exiled), we're good. Yes, this is permission to include any of your beloved head canons you would use in a fic for yourself!
Regardless of whether something is canon compliant, divergent, or a full-blown AU, what ultimately matters most to me is that the requested characters are essentially recognizable. If you want to shift their dynamics with one another, the relationships they have to other characters, how they got there, etc, go for it. I'm along for the ride!
Shipping
I'm pretty laid back as to what counts as actual shipping. Pre-relationship, ambiguous, pining, toxic, casual hookups, actual romance, established relationship generally all work for me unless otherwise stated in my request.
In that vein, I'm also usually good with you including other relationships for the requested characters over the course of a fic, as long as it doesn't end on a happily ever after for that ship or unrequested polyamory. And if you're bringing in unrequested characters from the fandom to flesh a story out, feel free to have them be in whatever relationships make you happy, canon or not!
Solo Character Requests
Unless otherwise specified, this usually means I'm cool with you writing about the character all by themselves, doing a fic focused on platonic relationships, or shipping the character with whomever you want in the larger context of the fic, as long as it all centers on the requested character!
Originality & Repeated Requests
I am a big proponent of the Two Cakes Rule! If I request the same sort of thing a lot, my god, I promise it's because I will read endless stories about it. If you have an idea that's already been done a thousand times before but you're excited about it, please write it for me! My favorite takes on stories are rarely the most popular ones within a fandom, and I adore seeing how different people put their twist on things, large or small. This also goes for ideas other people have written for me, I've written myself, or even ones that you've already written (for me or not). This is especially true of anything listed within my bulletproof likes, but it's also just true across the board.
Continuations, Sequels, etc.
If an exchange allows sequels to fics you've previously written for someone, consider this blanket permission to do so. I know most don't allow editing or chapter additions after the fact, but lowkey, this does not bother me either, so...do with that what you will. Alternately, if you ever add to something you've written for me elsewhere, please feel free to tag me in it so I can check it out!
Noncon Requests
I'm never sure how to request noncon in terms of literal ship requests. Noncon/dark-specific exchange sign-ups generally have more information, but 99.9% of the time, I am only particular about the victim and am good with any aggressor of your choosing. And I do mean any. If this is not the case, I will explicitly say so. I'm also good with any flavor of it other than what I've DNWed!
On DNWs and Opting Out
In general, if I haven't explicitly DNWed something in my sign-up, feel free to assume I'm fine with it. At the very least, it is very unlikely to upset me. I read widely and often find stories I like even if they contain tropes or kinks or whatnot I don't usually go for. Take your swings! As long as you have a good time writing something, I'm most likely going to have a good time reading it.
Mixing & Matching Requests
If you spot a prompt I wrote for one fandom/ship/character and want to use it for a different one, by all means, feel free. I like a lot of the same stuff, and it's hard not to be extremely repetitive in my requests and prompts. This is true even if the prompt is way old and the fandom request is recent, or vice versa, or if you want to grab a niche prompt to use on a broader exchange (eg something epistolary for Fandom5K). I don't make prompts I wouldn't always be happy to receive!
Treats
I love and welcome treats! If an exchange is open to multiple mediums, please feel more than free to treat me in any of them, even if I didn't request it. I'm also thrilled about late treats. I've been in fandom a long time and there is nothing I don't circle back to eventually, and there are no fandoms I've requested that I would no longer appreciate a gift in. I will update this if that changes, but I don't expect it to.
Repeated Matches
I know sometimes people worry that a recipient will tire of getting fic from them. That is not me. If you enjoy writing for me, please continue to do so as long as you would like.
I cannot stress enough that this section is *just* for if you're truly at a loss for what to write and want a sure thing. I like so much beyond what's on this list, but these are things that always hit for me.
TBA
This is just an ongoing list of some of my favorite tags from various exchanges, split up into categories. This is by no means comprehensive and, like everything else, you should take this only as optional inspiration and ignore it if it isn't helpful!

I'm probably not covering every possible medium here, but I appreciate gifts in all mediums except probably podfics. Unfortunately I just really prefer reading fics to listening to them 😅
I also very much welcome whatever skill level you're at if you want to try things out but are nervous about that.
ArtI love a wide variety of art (at any skill level), but I want to stress that I really love fandom art that you only get when you *know* the fandom well. For example, places are a big favorite, in-universe artwork, meta stuff, obscure moments, and other really creative interpretations. My DNWs for art are the same as my regular DNWs + prepubescent NSFW.
General art likes: horror, surrealism, minimalism, maximalism, chaotically colorful, monochromatic, sketches, vaporwave, comics, movie posters, atmosphere/weather, places (especially abandoned/empty), adventurous AUs (pirates, space), "retro" 1920s-2000s interpretations, queering the canon, words incorporated into works, symbols, minimalist/symbolic representations of characters, exploring themes or ideas symbolically, the moment before something incredible or catastrophic happens, quiet angst, isolation
Videos
I love serious fan vids, but I also have a soft spot for the crackiest shit, even (or especially) when the canon is serious. I have no issues with motion sickness, flashing lights, etc, so please edit in whatever style you like!
Fan Mixes
Such a big fan of mixes that tell some sort of story or go super niche (eg "songs Buffy & Faith would dance to at the Bronze in 2015"). I love a wide variety of music and would love to be introduced to your favorite songs in any genre! If they aren't on Spotify/Apple Music, I'm perfectly happy with a list that requires me to track down songs on my own--I will do it, trust me.
Other Written Mediums
TBA
Most of my fandoms are English-language live action, with my focus being on f/f relationships, friendship, or teams.
Even though there are a few fandoms I request significantly more often than others, I never request something I don't genuinely want. There's also a fair amount of...tonal mismatch in my fandoms vs the types of fic I request (eg dark fic for G-rated fandoms). I'm always happy to get things that are more in line with canon as well, so don't feel like you need to shy away if you see something you want to write but are worried I won't be into it. There are also a decent number of fandoms I love getting cracky/weird fic (or art, etc) in, although I don't request them as often because they tend to be even more obscure than my normal shit.
On that note, if there's something I haven't requested in awhile and you are hoping I will, feel more than free to poke me about it on here (even anon) or on Discord.
If you would like to browse an up-to-date list of all the fandoms I have ever requested, you can do so here.
You can also check the fandoms I have previously written for on my ao3.
For a more in depth look at my thoughts and prompts for various fandoms, check out this post.
Just a heads up that I often don't get a chance to comment until later on in the anonymous period. It's never, ever reflective of how I feel about a gift. I also like to read things through at least twice before commenting, so if I have multiple gifts outstanding, it may take a few days to get through them. If I haven't commented by the end of an anon period, feel free to say something--I'm always worried I might somehow miss something!
Conversely, if for whatever reason you're reading this after *I've* written something for *you,* please don't ever feel bad or stress about late comments.
