Welcome to my deep dive on fandoms for exchange requests!
Here are some quick links to get things started:
general creator letter | ao3 | previous requests | previous letters
This page is intended as a compilation of my interests and prompts for specific fandoms that I request frequently. If there's a fandom listed in my overall fandoms list that isn't here that you would like more information about, please feel free to drop me a note in the comments or poke me on Discord (captain.spiral).
For broader information on my likes, dislikes, and thoughts for exchanges, please check out my creator letter.
I've included a brief rundown of what each fandom is, what I tend to enjoy about it/fics for it, and more info about my favorite ships. I've also included Archive Warnings that are always okay for specific ships, fandom-specific DNWs, and ideas for prompts that I would be happy to receive in any exchange. Please consider everything you find here a base to start from—or something to ignore entirely. If a sign-up contradicts what's here or offers more flexibility, go with the sign-up. Most importantly, please don't feel in any way limited or constrained by anything on this page. It's just intended as a fallback if you find more details, thoughts, or ideas to work off of helpful in any way.
Eventually, I aim to include more info about platonic ships and to break down the prompts better by category (romance vs hurt/comfort vs worldbuilding, etc), but for now, they're just a haphazardly shoved together collection of assorted prompts in each fandom. Do with them what you will (or won't)!
And if a prompt from one fandom provides you inspiration for another fandom, run with it.

What it is: Barely Lethal is a goofy little movie about a teen assassin named Megan. All she wants is a normal life like she's seen in the movies and magazines, so she fakes her death to get away from the organization that raised and trained her. Pretending to be a foreign exchange student from Canada, she moves in with a family who has no idea who she really is and enters the terrifying world of high school. Of course, her past soon catches up with her as her former boss discovers she's alive and a rival agent shows up to steal her boyfriend.
What I love: It's high school antics with a high-stakes backdrop. What's not to love? Seriously though, this movie had so much potential and while I don't think it quite delivered, that makes it beyond ripe for fan fic. There's danger! There's humor! There's angst! There's the fact that every single female character in this movie gives off major comphet vibes!
While I would obviously love any darker dives into what the reality of this kind of world could mean for our beloved characters, I will always be thrilled with any sort of Barely Lethal gift!
Megan/Liz ⚢
I love how Megan's overenthusiastic-but-clueless attempts to be a "normal" teenager clash with Liz's antisocial determination to hate everything about high school. I feel like there's so much more they could have learned from one another and brought out in each other that the film didn't explore, and I would just love anything that expands the idea of what their relationship (romantic or not) could be.

What it is: We all know this already, right? Right?
What I love: This is just one of those places where you could explore pretty much any supernatural plot and it works. The monster-of-the-week format allows for endless ideas, and so damn much happened over the course of both series (and beyond) that provided a ton to play with. It's teenagers against the world who eventually become traumatized adults who just have to keep keeping on.
There's almost no style of story I don't love for this fandom. Some sort of resemblance to canon (as in jokes amidst a dark reality) is preferred, but other than that, go nuts. This is definitely one where you can twist canon timelines and details up as much as you want or throw them out the window entirely to make your story work.
I've seen both BtVS and Angel, so I'm never precious about which world the story is more set in (regardless of my request) so long as any characters/tags are covered. I haven't read the comics, however, although I'm fine with you including stuff from them (or media tie-ins) so long as I can still follow the story.
Fandom-specific DNWs: Giles/Dawn, romantic Faith/Angel past or present (literally anything but romance is fine; waived for full AUs), any acknowledgement of this upcoming revival/reboot
Fandom-specific DNW waivers: canonical MCD is fine, temporary death of requested characters is fine, and any character death is fine if it's more of an introspective/character study/experimental piece than plotty
Buffy/Faith ⚢
One of my forever OTPs. I love them in just about any dynamic, but my favorite is anything that has them coming to some sort of understanding about one another, no matter how begrudgingly. It doesn't have to be a HEA, but I feel like they were both so resistant to seeing the truth about each other at the start. Buffy saw Faith as a cool girl, a project, and an enemy. Faith saw Buffy as a stick in the mud and the golden child with an easy life. If only they would have peeled more layers, dammit!
That said, there's no need to misconstrue understanding as hand waving away all that happened between them (depending on how you stick to canon). The tension in their relationship and the complexities of the guilt and anger and mistrust that has to be worked through is so much of what I love.
Faith is one of my favorite characters ever, and I do appreciate it any time she gets into some whumpy fan fic situations, but I've got a lot of love for Buffy too and am just as happy to spread any angst or hurt/comfort around. Or smut. There's always smut.
Other characters: I love Cordelia a lot. And I actually quite enjoy Dawn. Other than DNWs, there are no characters or relationships (canon or otherwise) throughout the run of either show that I would be annoyed about you using (even Connor lol). I do appreciate narratives that acknowledge Riley's kind of a dick sometimes, Willow's got a bad attitude towards Faith from the start, and Gunn is totally a better man than Wesley, but none of that is a must.
Prompts
- A rewrite of literally any episode/storyline but with Faith there.
- A rewrite of any of Faith's Angel episodes with Buffy there.
- Buffy being thoughtless and letting something bad happen before immediately regretting it.
- The Cruciamentum, but with Faith.
- Character studies within fraught canon moments.
- One of the slayers gets self-destructive with vampire bites.
- As a god, Glory is used to getting what they want. Slayers aren't used to being powerless.
- Killing vampires, but in space.
- Faith's past catching up to her.
- One of Buffy's boyfriends doesn't take well to Buffy choosing Faith over him.
- Faith almost breaks out of prison, but the thought of Buffy stops her.
- Awkward undercover missions!
- Anything with magic gone wrong.

What it is: The 2019 Charlie's Angels reboot took the agency global with an international network of operatives and Bosleys. It threw together lone wolf and type-A personality Jane Kano and loose canon Sabina Wilson when a naïve whistleblower, Elena Houghlin, wound up on the run from her employers. And of course, she eventually joined the team.
What I love: I know this movie wasn't for everyone, but it was definitely for me. Clashing personalities, flashy missions, goofy antics, and found family? Heck yeah. I love an action-comedy that can go totally serious and dangerous in a heartbeat.
My preferences here skew towards casefic—kidnappings, undercover ops, heists gone wrong, post-mission patch-ups, etc. And, per usual, I love shit that goes darker than the source. But this fandom just needs more fic, so if you've got another genre or lean in mind, I'm all for it.
Fandom-specific DNWs: Bosley shipped with any of the Angels (per usual, noncon/dubcon is fine)
Elena & Jane & Sabina
I'm not very particular about whether you make the relationship between the three platonic, OT3, or have two in a relationship with the third just palling around. This is true of WHATEVER combination I requested of them in an actual sign-up, btw. I just hate nominating every version and explaining it lol. We are truly dealer's choice here. I also have no beef with the canon het ship if you want to toss it in.
I do have a soft spot for Elena, meaning that if you want to whump her, I would be very appreciative.
Prompts
- Jane and Sabina know how to handle a mission going sideways. Elena's still learning.
- A distraction is needed. Sabina volunteers.
- The Angels get lost in the wilderness and everything keeps getting worse.
- Someone's past is catching up to all of them.
- Putting these Angels into any plot from a previous iteration of Charlie's Angels (diverge as desired).
- An undercover mission has repercussions during/after.
- Elena doesn't want Jane & Sabina to think she's the weakest link and does something stupid.
- Kidnapping!
- Blackmail
- Bad Guys Made Them Do It
- Aftermath of Torture

What it is: Legends of Tomorrow takes characters from various Arrowverse shows, shoves them onto a sentient ship, and catapults them throughout time. The first season is a little rough, but it soon became a show that constantly pulled a balancing act between shenanigans and heart, no matter how the crew shifted.
What I love: As much as I love grimdark things in fan fic, I tend to like shows with a little more levity. And that's what Legends had going for it compared to the others, without a doubt. I also enjoyed that it was this truly ensemble show that put effort into creating the relationships between just about everyone on board, even as certain characters came and went. There are so many wonderful dynamics to explore, and endless plot vehicles to use to do so thanks to the format of the show.
I jump between requesting ship fic and gen/team fic for this, so please know that it's all pretty interchangeable to me. If I requested a ship and you want to write an episodic thing that kinda focuses on those characters but is more plot-based and has the whole team, please do. I also enjoy works that focus on personal lives and relationships if you don't want to get into the sci-fi/adventure aspects.
Fandom-specific DNWs: My Arrowverse fandom-specific DNWs tend to vary depending on the sign-up, so revert to that! Although I will say I really only enjoy Mona in small doses, and while I don't mind Avalance as a background thing, I generally don't prefer it as a focus.
Charlie/Zari ⚢
There was just so much potential here! From contentious beginnings to flirty banter to whatever they were by the end of it all. (I will never forgive them for cutting that kiss scene, even if narratively it grumble grumble probably made sense.) I enjoyed the way the two of them have such different personalities on the surface but ultimately kind of complement each other in a certain way. They've both got a lot of walls up, and I love to see 'em knocked down.
In terms of Zari 1.0 vs 2.0, my preference *is* towards shipping Charlie with the 1.0 version, but if you're more passionate about Charlie/Zari 2.0, please go for it. I'd also definitely be cool with something that featured Charlie/Zari 2.0 but in a way that addressed the idea of Charlie having crushed on her counterpart and the weirdness of all of that (in whatever way interested you).

Other characters: Per usual, play fast and loose with canon. If you want to bring in characters that weren't ever on the ship together, be my guest. Explain it or don't. Hand wave away canonical deaths? Sure. Make good guys villains; villains good guys, etc etc. It's all in good fun.
As for Legends itself, I'm also a big fan of Sara, Len, and Mick. I ship Captain Canary more than Avalance (good with both), but I also enjoy Sara just doing her freewheeling thing. You're welcome to bring in any other characters from Arrowverse shows, or basically anyone seen in that massive crossover event that included like, Smallville and Birds of Prey and whatnot. I've seen them all!

What it is: Descendants is a franchise that takes place in a world where Disney heroes exiled all the Disney villains to an island without magic, resources, or law. And the villains had kids.
The story kicks off when four of the "VKs" (villain kids)—Mal (daughter of Maleficent), Evie (daughter of the Evil Queen), Jay (son of Jafar), and Carlos (son of Cruella de Vil)—are invited to attend school on the mainland, Auradon, to see if they can be integrated into polite society.
What I love: I adore Darker Than Disney interpretations of this franchise that really dig into the idea of "oh my god, these kids were trapped with the evilest villains that exist in this world their whole lives, in a place where everyone had to fend for themselves." I really enjoy fan fic that delves into explorations of that—what it looked like at the time, how it affects their attempts to adjust to Auradon, what kinds of bonds all four of them have with one another.
I'm especially into interpretations where the Isle left lasting scars—physically, emotionally, behaviorally—and Auradon isn't actually the refuge it pretends to be. Even the "good guys" are morally questionable when you really examine what they've allowed to happen.
I also appreciate explorations of morality in this world—Auradon isn't as wonderful as it's held up to be and neither are its people, even the kids on the Isle of the Lost have codes they live by, etc. Mal and the others "choosing good" (represented with all sincerity by Auradon itself) at the end of the first movie is a little goofy to me. I don't mind if that happens and they stay there, of course, but more complexity once they get into the weeds of it is just more interesting to me.
Fandom-specific DNWs: positive parent-child relationships for requested characters, Rise of Red characters (waived for noncon aggressors—"any" really means any lol)
Evie/Mal ⚢
Mal/Evie is one of my OTPs and there's very, very little I won't enjoy with them. Their backstory from the book is that Mal got Evie and her mother banished to the far side of the Isle of the Lost for years when she wasn't invited to Evie's 6th birthday party. The two had to team up (along with Jay and Carlos) later as teens to steal something for Maleficent. Mal was meant to throw Evie under the bus, but instead did a little self-sacrificing that went against everything she'd been raised to be.
I'm not married to that backstory (I love endless explorations of how things came to be), but it does provide context for the types of vibes I love between them. Jealousy, hurt, manipulation, loyalty, protectiveness—their relationship has the potential for any and all of it. They can be enemies, reluctant allies, best friends, or so much more. There is no one "right" way to interpret the endless possibilities of Evie/Mal for me, although I love things that take into account all they've been through both together and separately on the Isle and how that might manifest in each of them—and how, at the end of the day, they will always understand each other better than anyone else ever could.
While I do love both girls, I admittedly have a soft spot for Mal. She's generally my preference for the hurt party in any hurt/comfort or noncon scenarios (though I also enjoy dual hurt), but when it comes to any other sort of fic (character studies, consensual smut, romance, etc), I have no preference as to who you focus on or whose POV you use.
Other characters: Eventually I will have a section here talking about my love of the friendship between Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay, but for now, please know that I deeply adore the four of them and more than welcome fics that include that as an important aspect. I'm also interested in the complications of their relationships with the Sea Three. Feel free to bring in any Disney characters that would make sense in this world if you've got an idea that would benefit from them, too.
Prompts

- Ben has a little Beast in him, too.
- Audrey finds out about the plot to steal the wand and blackmails Mal.

- The villains DID have magic on the Isle — how did that make things worse?
- There are some things you just have to do to survive on the Isle of the Lost.
- Evie makes Mal a gift. Mal doesn't know how to accept it.
- Mal doesn't know if she's capable of love. Evie does.
- Nobody can die on the Isle. What does that really mean?
- Any freeform tag I have previously requested for this fandom.

What it is: Five messed-up teens meet in detention, discover glowing space rocks, and accidentally turn into superheroes. It's Power Rangers, but with more teen angst.
What I love: I love "chosen one" stories where they want to do the thing but maybe aren't quite prepared to do the thing and also aren't sure they're good enough to do the thing. I don't have other Power Rangers knowledge to compare the 2017 remake to, but I love that this one takes these teens from different backgrounds and social statuses who have all managed to become outcasts in their own right, shoves them together, and makes them save their town. And the way they just end up taking to each other fairly quickly and forming this serious bond is adorable, I love all of them so much.
Both the Ranger stuff and their high school drama are of equal interest to me, so feel free to focus on either. I do prefer that they're still Rangers, even just as background noise, unless you're doing some sort of major AU. I'm also happy to have you play fast and loose with canon and twist whatever you need to about their powers, pasts, enemies, etc to make your story work.
Kimberly/Trini ⚢
My favorite pairing in this universe by far. I love how their canon dynamic starts with this reluctant camaraderie that turns into something much more meaningful—and how fandom has taken that and built out so many different ways for their relationship to unfold.
I especially enjoy interpretations where Trini's got feelings simmering just under the surface and Kim doesn't quite know what to do with that—whether it turns into angst, smut, or both. Kim's the popular girl who fell from grace, Trini's the loner with a chip on her shoulder, and neither of them are as okay as they pretend to be. I love watching them try to figure that out, together or not.
Ultimately I love these two in just about any dynamic you want to throw them in, though. I've read a bunch of different interpretations and never encountered one I dislike. There's so much that's a blank canvas with them, and I love that.
Other Characters: I really do love the boys in this movie and the full team dynamic—any combination of friendships, protective behavior, or chaotic group antics is welcome. I'm good with whatever amount of Ranger squad you want to bring in.
I'm not familiar with other Power Rangers canons, but you are 100% welcome to pull in villains, plot points, or characters from anywhere if it helps you build a story that works.
Prompts
- Someone with a grudge against the Power Rangers figures out who they are.
- Amanda wants payback for the photos that got leaked.
- Someone impersonates one of the Rangers to gain access to the others and does some real damage.
- Rita takes a different approach when she's got the Rangers all chained up.
- Protecting one another in a battle.
- Trauma from fighting. Trauma from before.
- Learning more about one another's lives (preferably with angst!)
- Battles going wrong.
- Kidnapped/tortured/forced to watch.
- One of the Rangers mindbreaks like Rita and they're pitted against each other.
- The team gets split up across alternate timelines.
- Someone has to pretend to betray the others to protect them. Things do not go well.
- They lose their powers temporarily and have to navigate a crisis as just teens. (always a sucker for this trope; especially when combined with...)
- Lost in the woods!
- The Rangers encounter an enemy that has the power to bring their greatest fears to life.
- A villain targets their dreams.

What it is: Once upon a time, The CW decided to do a live-action Powerpuff Girls show, co-written by Diablo Cody. It didn't make it to air, but the script lives on AND a trailer for it has leaked since I first started making this cursed request. And as much as people loved to hate on both of them, those people were wrong and hate fun.
The script is basically childhood trauma wrapped in a colorful ballon of commercialization. It's like a mashup of Animorphs and Josie and the Pussycats (2001). Iykyk; if you don't, I'm writing this high. Let me be.
ANYWAY. Before leaving Townsville, bad things happened (they accidentally killed Mojo Jojo lol). The town turned on them, they fled, became estranged from Professor X, and are struggling with their new lives. Blossom has panic attacks! Buttercup is a gay firefighter! Bubbles is failing to conquer Hollywood! They are, of course, pulled back to Townsville, bad shit starts to go down, and they have to save the day.
Read the script here!
What I love: I've seen this criticized both for being yet another "gritty" reboot of childhood and for being too absurd, but it straddles the line in a way that I think would have been so much fucking fun to watch. It had the fun monster-of-the-week potential, complicated sisterly relationships, and of course all of the trauma. And some violence to go around.
Basically, I love how messy everyone is here and I also love how fun it is. I would appreciate pretty much any genre or type of fic here—episodic-style, worldbuilding, character studies, bizarre noncon, cartoon retellings, humor, etc, etc.
I don't know original PPG canon too well. I'm totally happy for you borrow from that and/or make up totally new villains, scenarios, and whatever else. I'm also totally good with you just picking and choosing what you like from the script and/or trailer and building whatever you would have wanted to see.
Blossom & Bubbles & Buttercup
I'm probably always going to request platonic interpretations of their relationship, but I'm also totally fine with incest here. (Or bringing in OCs as you see fit, but my preference skews f/f.) My main interest is in the dynamic between the three of them—strained and complicated and codependent, with old wounds and relentless loyalty underneath it all. Not much else to say here, just go nuts!
What it is: Schmigadoon! is a two-season Apple TV series where modern-day visitors stumble into magical musical towns that function according to the logic and tropes of classic stage shows. The first season parodies 1940s-50s Golden Age musicals (Brigadoon, Oklahoma!, Carousel, etc), while the second season, Schmicago!, shifts into jazzier, darker territory inspired by Cabaret, Chicago, Sweeney Todd, and more. These towns seem to exist entirely to force visiting couples to learn vague moral lessons through song, genre logic, and plot shenanigans until they earn their exit.
What I love: I am far, far more interested in the musical towns themselves than the visitors that make their way there. I'm drawn to the surreal, semi-sentient structure of the Schmigaverse—towns that seem to exist for the sole purpose of teaching lessons to random outsiders and characters who may or may not only be real when someone is watching. I love the idea of exploring what happens when the show's cast of musical archetypes start to question the roles they've been given, whether they're capable of growth, and what the worlds look like in the in-between times.
I'm especially interested in fic that leans into weirdness—tonal dissonance, surreal horror, self-aware characters, off-kilter magic, narrative glitches. I love the idea of new musical towns too (Schmicked? Schmigh Schmool Schmusical? Schment?)-with a familiar cast of characters, of course.
Basically, this is my plea for weird, existential, experimental shit. Character studies, worldbuilding, etc all trump ships for me here when it comes down to it.
Fandom-specific DNWs: Topher/Jenny HEA (any other type of relationship for them is fine)
Ships/Characters
As you've likely inferred, I don't have super strong ship preferences here, though I've previously requested Betsy/Emma (S1) and Jenny/Emcee (S2), along with Jenny solo and general ensemble/worldbuilding fic. Overall, I do enjoy F/F ships and character dynamics that don't necessarily focus on romance. M/F dynamics are welcome too as a way to explore something else, especially if they're messy, toxic, or spiral into disaster. M/M is also welcome as part of the show, but I prefer the focus stay on female characters. Here are my faves:
Jenny (Schmicago): I'm a sucker for a traumatic backstory, and doubly so when the character does everything she can to ignore it. I love where she is at the start of the season-pursuing her dreams but working for the worst man in town at a dangerous establishment. Still, she keeps performing-on the stage, in her own life, even to herself, always seeking something more. I'm also happy to see her shipped with the Emcee, who is basically a blank character for you to write as you see fit!
Emma (Schmigadoon): I found her willingness to leave everything behind and follow an outsider to the real world fascinating, especially because it seemed to have little to actually do with Josh. But Emma was already an outsider in Schmigadoon herself, which offers a lot to play with.
Betsy (Schmigadoon): Betsy is the opposite of Emma in a lot of ways: the picture perfect image of what a nice young girl in Schmigadoon should be. I love when seemingly innocent or perfect characters either break free of that mold or reveal the existing cracks, and there's plenty of potential for that here.
Prompts
- What happens in Schmigadoon/Schmicago when there are no visitors? Does everything reset in between? Do the characters remember?
- Any weird fusions (musical or not) outside of the megafandoms (Harry Potter, MCU/DCEU, Star Wars). But definitely bonus points if you have it in you to do a proper Schmigadoon-style mashup of musical worlds.
- After the orphanage, Jenny did what she had to in order to survive.
- Octavius Kratt gets obsessed with Jenny instead of Melissa.
- How did Emma find her way to Schmigadoon?
- There have always been a lot of rumors about Betsy. She didn't care—until Emma.
- Not all visitors to the Schmigaworlds are good people. (And maybe not all of them want to leave.)
- They tried to leave town.
- Is death even a possibility here? Or does everything just start from the top?
- A visitor leaves behind a phone.
- Schmigadoon, but make it flop musicals.
- Shameless noncon opportunities: Danny Bailey's carnival, the hippie commune, just...the overall attitude towards women of the 1950s, aging out of the orphanage, keeping patrons happy at Kratt Klubb.
