Hello writer!

As of now, I've only got Descendants and Agents of SHIELD up here, as those are the only two I saw I had matches for when sign-up closed. I am going to try to get things written up for the other requests before the letter deadline, but if I don't, you can find a list of letters in which I've written about Power Rangers and Barely Lethal (as well as more Descendants and Agents of SHIELD) in my general letter. That letter is still a work in progress, but does contain some additional thoughts that may (or may not) be helpful

I've also previously requested most if not all of these fandoms/ships in exchanges that also matched on freeforms. Feel free to browse the Auto Ao3 App for those, as they are all still things that I like.

Harley/Ivy was a last minute additional request, and I haven't written about them in a letter previously. But I feel like my sign-up covered what I'm interested in for that particular request.

Again, my general letter can be found here. More info about my smut likes can be found in this letter. More about my darker smut likes can be found in this one. As I am updating my general letter gradually, it may be updated over the course of Heart Attack, but obviously please do not feel the need to take anything from it into consideration either then or now.

• for me, with smut, what I like is a LOT more dependent on context and how you sell it in the story, so please don’t feel the need to go with anything here if you write smut and really love writing about certain kinks or whatnot; I’m extremely open to finding new things to enjoy, and as long as they don’t hit my DNWs, we’re gold

unusual opt-ins

(things people don't always like that I am a-okay with)
• noncon (of literally any type)
• abusive relationships/families (not between requested pairing)
• suicidal thoughts/self-harm
• infidelity
• bleak endings
• pre-relationship/ambiguous fic for "A/B" requests
• requested characters being in other relationships (as in: they start out in other relationships and get together, or they're unhappy in other relationships and pine for one)
• fic where the requested ship is incidental to a larger plot rather than the focus
• background ships as long as they aren't DNWed
• important platonic relationships for the requested characters outside of requested pairing
• doing whatever you want with unmentioned canon characters you bring into the story (pair them with whomever, make them evil, deploy your hyperspecific head canons, etc)
• homophobia towards requested characters from other characters (no transphobia, please)

DNWs

• 1st/2nd person POV (fine in epistolary)
• mundane AUs
• pure fluff/domestic bliss (at least some angst, please)
• pregnancy (fear of pregnancy or quick abortions/miscarriages are fine, references to non-requested characters being pregnant is fine; I just do not enjoy fics focused on/celebrating pregnancy and don’t like thinking about my faves being pregnant or having kids)
• genderswap (trans headcanons are fine with canon-accurate genders, eg canon female character is MTF)
• omegaverse
• kid fic (as in: they have kids/age regression; narratives that reference/have flashbacks to childhood are fine)
• requested characters happily in endgame het relationships
• focus on identity/sexuality realizations or coming out (characters being interested in someone of the same gender for the first time or sharing that info with people for the first time is fine, I just don’t enjoy fics that harp on the queer realization or the coming out process)
• gay panic from requested characters (homophobia from other characters is fine, panic over the specific relationship is fine)
• terminal illness
• pet death/harm
• mindbreak
• non-canon permanent death of requested characters
• Descendants-specific: positive parent-child relationships for requested characters

NSFW DNWs

• scat/watersports
• vomit kink
• feed kink
• explicit sexual content under age 15 (referenced/fade-to-black is fine)
• age play
• pet play
• vore
• “it was a kink scene all along" dubcon/noncon reveal (established CNC is fine)
• snuff (even temporary)

Descendants / The Isle of the Lost

descendants

What it is: Descendants is a franchise that takes place in a world where Disney heroes exiled all the Disney villains to an island without magic. And the villains had kids. The three films are considered the primary canon, and start with four of the Villain Kids (Mal the daughter of Maleficent, Evie the daughter of the Evil Queen, Jay the son of Jafar, and Carlos the son of Cruella de Vil) being sent to Auradon to attend school with the hero children to see if they can be integrated into polite society.

I've also nominated/requested The Isle of the Lost, which is a prequel book. You don't need to have seen Descendants to read/understand/write fic for the book, or vice versa, although it does provide context for the films that I personally really enjoy. I'm combining them into one fandom for the sake of this entry, but if you opt into Isle of the Lost only, you can ignore anything I mention about Auradon.

What I love: I love Darker Than Disney interpretations of this franchise, that really dig into the idea of "oh my god, these kids were trapped with the evilest villains that exist in this world their whole lives, on an island with basically no resources or rules." I really enjoy fan fic that delves into explorations of that — what it looked like at the time, how it affects their attempts to adjust to Auradon, what kinds of bonds all four of them have with one another.

What I ship: Mal/Evie is one of my OTPs. It's very clear they'll do anything for another, and it's a bond that probably wouldn't have happened had they grown up anywhere else. But as different as they are, they know each other so well, you cannot convince me they are not ultimately each the most important person in the other's orbit. I'm fine with background shipping of Jay and Carlos with each other, or with anyone else you'd like (if you so choose).

Other thoughts: I appreciate explorations of morality in this world — Auradon isn't as wonderful as it's held up to be and neither are its people, even the kids on the Isle of the Lost have codes they live by, etc. Mal and the others "choosing good" at the end of the first movie is a little goofy to me. I don't mind if that happens and they stay there, of course, but more complexity once they get into the weeds of it is just more interesting to me.

Random possible inspiration: nightmares | storms | dancing in the rain | feral behavior | "Self-Destruction Mode" | misunderstandings | fear of the unknown | mob mentality | this picture this picture | "There are poisons that blind you, and poisons that open your eyes." | touch | castles crumbling | this picture & this picture | panic attacks | accidental betrayal | wishing wells | also this picture (and this picture) | abandoned skills | new clothes | dirty water | under the stars

Specific prompt ideas: Again, please, please, please do not feel the need to go with any of these, these are just some standard Descendants prompts I occasionally throw out there that I always enjoy.

  • Mal protecting any of the others from her mother/their parents/other Isle threats
  • trouble adjusting to life in Auradon when they're used to constant threats around every corner
  • Ben just doesn't get Mal, but Evie does
  • they get sent back to the Isle after the coronation
  • general life on the Isle snippets
  • Auradon kids taunting/not accepting them and accidentally triggering them
  • the villains DID have magic on the Isle, how did that make things worse?
  • there are some things you just have to do to survive on the Isle of the Lost

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"The legendary Quake. You know, you're much prettier in person."
"And meaner. So I
 would stay where you are."

What it is: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the inhuman-centric TV entry into the MCU. Okay, actually it's MCU adjacent and they often pretend this canon doesn't exist, but it DOES, and it's GREAT.

What I love: My favorite thing about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a whole is the found family aspect of it. The show does an incredible job establishing relationships between basically all of the characters that end up being a part of the team individually. There are so many opportunities for peril and bravery, and enough happens over the course of the series that it also completely makes sense for these people who love and care about one another to frequently end up on opposing sides as well — and you understand why, even if you pick a side as a viewer.

What I ship: I made it through so many seasons of this show without shipping a goddamn thing. Then Ruby showed up. (If you've noticed several of my fandom requests have overlap in the form of an actor, ahem, this is where it started.) Enemies to lovers isn't always my jam, but Ruby's single-minded obsession with Daisy and Daisy's belief that she can get through to her (and the fucking horrific way it all ends) just crawled underneath my skin and infiltrated my bloodstream.

More about Ruby: Ruby only has a six-episode arc in season five. She shows up as a powerful enemy who was genetically engineered by HYDRA
and raised in an underground bunker alongside other HYDRA Academy students. After HYDRA was weeded out of SHIELD, she was the only one left, remaining in the bunker. She is occasionally visited by her mother, General Hale, also HYDRA, with whom she has a very complicated relationship. General Hale ultimately teams up with SHIELD to try to save Ruby when Ruby attempts to take on a substance called Gravitonium that could rip the entire world apart — and drive her insane in the process. It...does not go well, despite Daisy's best attempts to save her. Here is the fandom wiki for Ruby.

Other thoughts: While I ship this, I also fully acknowledge it would either require some heavy lifting or some serious skipping ahead to make that happen believably. Both of which I'm always game for! But I'm equally game for just exploring their dynamics in any other way, even if it doesn't end up in romance. Any type of exploration, any type of ending; all I ask is that you approach the characters with empathy, even if Ruby doesn't end up redeemed or saved.

Timeline issues: With Ruby in just six episodes, you're pretty limited regarding canon compliance. So please feel free to play as fast and loose with canon as you like. Shove her into an entirely different season, take advantage of the time travel in the final season and have Daisy encounter a different version of Ruby, go totally divergent from her last actual episode, have them meet earlier — seriously, whatever you want here.

Specific prompt ideas:
  • Daisy is captured by HYDRA and held at the base where Ruby lives
  • HYDRA Prep has a questionable approach to discipline
  • A version of the jump forward to the Kree ship where Ruby is also present and conscripted into their fight club
  • Ruby switching over and working with SHIELD (How would the others take this? Especially Yo-yo and Mack)
  • Either character's past catching up with them
